Handling of cookies on Synergia Foxy CMS

Default cookies on Foxy -sites and how they are handled

By default, Synergia Foxy CMS doesn't save any cookies. All the necessary settings are saved on SESSION -variables and stored on the server (language versions, search, logins etc). The built-in statistics on Foxy only saves basic info on visits and visit amounts, so no personal data (eg. IP-address) is saved.

As Foxy doesn't save any personal info, the cookie bar is also not necessary.

Handling of cookies with third party scripts

As a user can freely add third party scripts to the site, the handling of cookies is the user's responsibility. If you add 3rd party scripts to your site, contact us asap.

Third party scripts include:

  • Google Analytics -statistics
  • Snoobi -statistics
  • Google Ads -marketing
  • Facebook -pixels

Foxy's cookie bar for Google Consent Mode v2

We have built a ready-made-solution for cookie bars especially to handle Google Consent Mode v2. With this bar, you can define how you handle the data on Google Tag Manager. No data is sent to Google until the user gives his/her consent. If you need this bar, please contact us.

The cookie bar works as follows:

Example picture of the cookie bar in Finnish

The cookie bar appears on the bottom of the page. We will define the styling and texts with customer, but the functionality stays the same: User either Accepts all, or makes consent choices with Modify -button. The user can make the following choices.

  • Necessary (required)
  • Analytics
  • Marketing

The user can continue browsing the page without making any choices, in which case no data is transferred to Google.

The choices made can be directly used on Google Tag Manager:

Google Tag Manager has four crucial variables built-in: ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage. With these variables, you can define eg. Analytics only collecting data when analytics_storage=granted. By default, all values are set to denied.

In the table below, you can seen how the values are determined by user choices:

If you want to order the cookie bar, or have any questions, please contact us. We can also help you setting up Google services and making required changes to Tag Manager.

Frequently asked questions

I need a different type of cookie bar, can it be done?Wouldn't a social media wall require user consent?

No, a social media wall only reads the data from eg. Facebook. No data is transferred to another direction, unless the user interacts with the post.
